City Palace

The City Palace was built in the early 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the same ruler who founded Jaipur city in 1727. Over time, successive rulers expanded and enhanced the complex.

Even today, it remains the residence of the Jaipur royal family, headed by Padmanabh Singh (the current titular king).
